The J and L Tourist House

The J and L Tourist House
It's Name, the Innkeepers and the Location

The J and L Tourist House is named after Jennie Spencer Evans the grandmother of Jesse
James Rogers and Lillie Mae Barrow Swindell  Buckingham, the mother of Gloria Swindell Rogers, the owners of this beautiful Inn. The Inn, a 1906 two story colonial style house is located a few feet away from the Pantego Creek River in Belhaven, NC and a brief walking distance from the down town area and the public boating pier. Belhaven is a tiny body of land partly surrounded by water and located midway of the intracoastal waterway that runs from Maine to Flordia. This area in eastern North Carolina is known for its  great fishing and hunting. The J and L is an ideal place to stay for a get away, a homecoming event, retreat, the 4th of July or a much needed vacation. The hometown spirit will woo you to return, and tell your friends about the little place in eastern carolina many still call home. This will be a relaxing experience, a new adventure in lodging, one you will  remember for a life time. Yes, the Jennie /Lillie could become your home, away from home. The quiet, friendly, beautiful and accommodating atmosphere will entice you to return again and again.
